A shocking murder inside a high-security prison has put the security of prisons at the center of the debate. Through funds allocated for cameras and surveillance equipment, the state aims to improve control. However, the corruption that permeates the system remains a major challenge, making this event a reflection of deeper problems in our penitentiary system.
