Regional Media Assistance Program – Support for Independent Media in the Western Balkans
The Albanian Center for Quality Journalism is proud to be a beneficiary of the Regional Media Assistance Program, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in cooperation with Internews and DW Akademie. Funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), this program supports six economies in the Western Balkans with the aim of strengthening participatory democracy and promoting EU integration.
The program improves the capacities of independent media by providing a combination of grant support, tailored technical assistance and various capacity-building activities. These efforts help media organizations adapt to the changing media landscape, improving their economic performance and producing high-quality journalism.
Through this program, we benefit from initiatives that:
- Strengthen the economic sustainability of media organizations.
- Improve the quality of media reporting.
- Increase regional cooperation between media actors and technology companies.
This partnership empowers us to continue to deliver impactful journalism and fosters greater collaboration within the media landscape in the Western Balkans.
