Work with us

ACQJ co-publishes its stories with the media throughout Albania, so that they reach as many people as possible. Our work has appeared in most major Albanian online portals and broadcasters. We have produced more than 200 investigative and primetime television product packages. Our work is also frequently cited by lawyers, academics and policy makers.

We work with a wide variety of sources and collaborators. These include whistleblowers, other journalists, activists, politicians, CSOs, lawyers, members of the public, government institutions, corporations and regulators. We understand that many of these sources will have an agenda, and we use rigorous journalistic methods to ensure that the information and evidence provided to us is accurate. We pursue our journalism without agenda or political influence. We verify and review all documents, data and general information provided to us. Where we have information that is not in the public domain, we insist on checking its authenticity with a second source. There are exceptional circumstances where this is not possible and in these cases we will say we only have a single source and explain why we think it is worth releasing the information. We have a rigorous and open right-of-response process.

We want other people and organizations to use our work and work with us, and we will do everything we can to help them. All we ask is to be credited for the work done. We work with other journalists and media partners to help distribute our work. We publish our data and documents when possible so that others can use them. We also sometimes provide raw data or evidence to activists, CSOs, lobbyists, members of parliament, lawyers and many other interested parties to use in their work. We do this because we believe that journalism can help shape our world and is a true force for good, but we understand that we are only taking the first step towards this change. It is not our job to make the difference.

If you want to be a media partner and work with us and co-publish the day we publish a story, there are a number of conditions towards this collaboration. We have good contacts at most broadcasters and publishers, but if you haven't worked with us before, get in touch beforehand and have a chat with us.

Sometimes we do almost all the work and deliver virtually a finished product and sometimes our media partners share the effort involved in the research. We are very flexible. In any case, these are the rules by which we work:

  • ACQJ should be clearly evaluated at the beginning of the writing
  • In the online partner publication, ACQJ credit must be linked to our version of the article
  • ACQJ must see the media partner's final copy in advance
  • ACQJ and the partner must agree when the product will be published
  • ACQJ reporters should be cited for their work
  • ACQJ and the media partner must share any right to respond

Non-media partners wishing to use our work under the Creative Commons license should note:

  • If you republish online, please link your article to relevant references in our primary product
  • Our material cannot be sold separately and out of contact
  • If you cite parts of our research, ACQJ should be credited

We also collaborate with CSOs in various ways. Contact us!
