The election process in the country's universities was accompanied by numerous problems. More worrying was the fact of the election model with one candidate for head of academic units, where in 7 out of 12 public universities and in 50% of the faculties of the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic University, the race for head was accompanied by only one candidate, eliminating the election or the confrontation of ideas.
On the other hand, there was also a lack of transparency in the universities. In the largest University in the country, that of Tirana, according to the journalists but also the monitoring report of the Civic Centre, there was a ban on the media in the voting centers and a ban on the presence of the observers of the organizations in the counting process.
