Rubiku, a small town in the heart of Mirdita, was once a symbol of industrial development in Albania. With a refinery and a metallurgical complex employing thousands of people, life here was buzzing with energy and hope. But today, Rubiku faces silence, emigration and oblivion. In this documentary, we bring the story of a town that has experienced its rise and fall – through the testimonies of residents, archival footage and reflections on the future. A story between nostalgia and reality, “Rubiku, left in oblivion” is a call for remembrance and reflection.
